Sorry for the huge gap in postings. I have been visiting rural Indiana for a memorial service for a dear family member.

I was struck by the kindness and deep caring shared by the community my husband’s family has been a part of for nearly 180 years. Delicious food appeared when needed. Accommodations were provided in family homes close by. My sister-in-law was helped with everything she required to create a deeply satisfying and memorable service.

What “rural” does best is create the opportunity for human level interaction, foster a sense of connection to things that really matter and slow things down enough to really be processed and absorbed.

No wonder it’s the fastest growing sector of the tourism industry.
