How about cooperation from the city council; while voting out Economic Development, they voted in a new courthouse—guess that tells us how Yreka “prospers.”
This is a major issue around the country. We small tourism business owners, the economic spark plugs of our rural towns are often reluctant to get involved in local politics – another issue of time – and as with everything else, the “squeaky wheel” gets the attention first. The solution – strengthen the voice of your business community by strongly supporting your local Chamber of Commerce and asking them to become your squeaky wheel with your local government.
